Legazpi City - The current administration’s “war on drug” brings various implications to the entire nation. One of them is the treatment and rehabilitation of drug-dependents people.

“Addiction is a brain disease. Drugs like marijuana and “shabu” release chemicals that make a person addicted and persuade them that they cannot live without drugs,” said Dr. Maria Teresa Iñigo, the Chief of Hospital II of Malinao Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, during an interview with DZGB's Radyo Klinika on November 5, 2016.

According to Dr. Iñigo, rehabilitation is a dynamic process that includes the entire aspect of the person (social, intellectual, emotional, psychological, and spiritual). For a treatment to be successful, addiction must be understood as a symptom of deeper problems. She emphasized that recovery without God is not  recovery at all.

Under the Department of Health, the MTRC offers the following services: residential program, after care plan, spiritual program, livelihood (with TESDA), and education (with DepEd). The Malinao Treatment and Rehabilitation Center sits on a 1.5-hectare land located at Brgy. Comun, Malinao, Albay, about 8 kilometers away from Tabaco City. The Center continuously strives to upgrade and improve its services through staff training and facility development to truly achieve its vision of becoming a world-class haven of hope towards the recovery and transformation of drug dependents.  For Admission Inquiries  call their Medical Section through these numbers: Landline- (052) 824 4439 Mobile- 09324725270.
